Tea Pots
For one of my projects, I made two tea pots. One was larger and was decorated with vines and grapes and the second was smaller and was designed with tree-like features.
To make the first tea pot, I used the square cut-out tool for the coil machine and pumped out a large square shaped tube. I then took about a golf ball sized chunk of clay and made a bottom for the tea pot. I then I used a small chunk of clay to make the spout, and how I made that was, I flattened out the piece of clay and then slowly rolled the two ends together then took the drill tool and made a quarter sized whole in the tube or the top of the tea pot. I then slipped and scored on the spout. I also pulled a handle and slipped and scored that to the back of the tea pot. I also made a lid by rolling out a small amount of clay and then cut out a shape to fit the top of the tea pot. I then decorated it with vines and grapes. I then let the project dry and then once it went through the kiln once, I used under glaze to color the vines and grapes. The vines were green, the grapes were purple, and the background was brown. I liked this project, it was pretty easy to make and I enjoyed the final product.
To create the second tea pot, I used the same tools as the first, but i pumped out a smaller tube. And then made a bottom and a spout but unlike the first tea pot this one had a longer handle and a shorter spout. Then to decorate it I took a fork and scrapped up the out side to make it look tree-like. Then once it went through the kiln I glazed the tea pot with copper head.

Hoodoo Drum
To create this project, I used the wheel. To begin I wedged about two pounds of clay. Then I threw a vase shaped pot. I then let the pot sit for about two hours and then used the needle tool to cut out a golf ball sized hole in the side.I also used the needle tool to create a design on the sides of the pot. I split the pot in half with a line and on one half their were positive things and on the other negative, to show the sides of good and evil. I then finished letting it dry and then put it in the kiln. Once it was through the kiln once I glazed it using frosted melon and copper head. I was a little disappointed with this project. once it was all done I really didn't like the shape. The project itself was really easy.
Final Project
For my final project, I needed to make a set of six. So I decided to make three mugs and three plates to put them on. I also made an extra small cup. To make the mugs, I used three two pound balls of clay. I throw every thing on the wheel. I pulled up the sides about three to four times and then I let it dry for about three hours under a fan then I pulled handles to put on them. Once the were dry and went through the kiln once I glazed them with verte and col bolt. To make the extra cup i only use one pound of clay and pulled about two times, I didn't put a handle on it. To make the plates I also used the wheel and used one pound of clay. To make these I slapped the clay on the bat, centered it, and threw a bowl then flattened the sides. I used the same glazes from the mugs. I enjoyed this project, it was easy, and fun.
Skin Pot
To create this project I threw two small bowls and a small pot on the wheel. I then slipped and scoured the pieces together and then let them dry slightly. Once the project become leatherly I added detail. This included small balls of clay smushed in, bows, and flowers. Then it went through the kiln once and then I used white and colbolt glaze. I did not enjoy this project, it was a pain in the butt to make with all the detail, but I was happy with the final result.
