This was just an extra project that i did. All i did was took a golf ball sized clay ball and took my fist and pushed down on the clay. Then made sure my hands were dry and set my pointer and middle fingers against the pot and used my other pointer finger to rub down the side into a u shape. This project was very easy for me and I truly enjoy making them, they make great gifts. I glazed this with deep fire brick, indigo flow, and ?.
Itty Bitty Spoon Holder
This a very small spoon holder.
Spoon Holder
Just another spoon holder but with some indents in the rim.
Spoon Holder
Some pinched sides.
Chip and Dip Bowl
To make the chip and dip bowl, I started by wedging two pounds of clay. After I centered the clay I took my finger and pushed between the middle and the out side, that flated to a plate. Then i took the chunck of clay left in the middle and threw that into a bowl. When glazing the bowl i used deep fire brick. This project was challenging and it took me a couple of times to actually make it but once I did I was very happy with it.
Manipulated Bowl
To make the manipulated bowl I started by wedging two to three pounds of clay. I then centered the clay and pushed in the middle to pull out the sides. After bring up the sides and shaping the bowl to the way I wanted it, I took my finger and started pushing out certain parts of the bowl and then I took chunks of clay and pushed them on to the side to really get the effect of manipulation. I glazed this bowl with indigo flow and drizzled frosted melon on the top. I was happy with this project but it was a challenge for me to make the rim circler.
Spoon Holder
Another spoon holder with rib tool indents.
ChopStick Pot
The chopsitck pot started as a pound and half of clay. After wedging the clay and centering it on the bat I brought out the sides and then pulled up. Then I slowly pulled the top together so it was one hollow piece, then I took the back of a needle tool and slowly pressed an indent into the side where the lid would be cut off. I then waited for the project to dry a bit and then used a needle tool to trip off the lid and the lid just fell right into place. I put a cut little flower on top and after it was bisk fire I glazed the pot with indago flow and blue and green under glaze. I was over all happy with the project but the flower on top was a little difficult.
